Leona M. Ocwieja, 97, a resident of Riverside Nursing and Rehab Center, Taylor, died Saturday evening at the center. Her husband Frank I. Ocwieja died in 1988. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary Nehr Kucy. Educated in Scranton schools, she was lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral and retired as a seamstress from Family Garment. She is survived by 1 son, Frank Ocwieja, Scotia, NY, 1 sister, Jean Arnold, Scranton, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, her caregiver and brother in-law, Andrew Guzior, Dickson, City, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by 1 daughter, Leona Guzior, 1 son, Joseph, 1 granddaughter, Amy McHale, 1 sister, Wanda Krupka, 2 brothers, Julius and John Kucy. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am in St. Stanislaus Cathedral, with interment to follow in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Kane Street, Scranton. There are no calling hours.
