Linda S. Pfeiffer, 73. formerly of West Scranton, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Kindred Hospital, Havertown, PA. Her husband is William D. Pfeiffer, and the couple would have been married 51 years in April. Born in Scranton to the late Anthony and Ruth Buchholz Long, she was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish, West Scranton, had been employed as a supervisor at the Scranton Primary Health Care Center, until retirement.
She is survived along with her husband William, their daughters; Dawn Lyn Prislupsky and husband Kevin, Taylor, Belinda Opeil and fiancée Commodore Mann, Mesa, AZ, one grandson, William Patrick Opeil III, her best friend Nancy Walsh and many other family and friends. Linda was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a heart of gold and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Linda enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and her one true passion, her three dogs, Dryfuss, Pepper and most recently, Esther Mae. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Linda’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation to each of the facilities she resided at throughout the years and especially Kindred Hospital for their compassion and care through the last few months. Viewing for family and friends will be on Wednesday 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. A Blessing Service will be officiated by Deacon Al Giacometti on Thursday at 10 am.
Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
