Marlene M. Phillips, 72, of West Scranton, passed on Sunday, October 31, 2021. She was the widow of the late Roy Phillips Jr. Born in Scranton, she is the daughter of the late Walter and Wanda Dusko. Marlene was a 1967 graduate of West Scranton High School, was a member of ILGWU, and retired from Aramark Food Service in the Scranton School District. She is survived by her son, Roy Phillips III and wife Cara, Scranton; and daughter Kristen Gervasi and husband Ben, Scranton; three grandchildren, Selena Casino and husband Clayton, Bernardino and Hadley, one great grandson, Bryce. Marlene was also survived by her sisters in law, Janet Havenstrite and Esther Foley and Husband Mike; all of Madison Twp. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am in St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral, 519 East Locust Street, South Scranton. Interment will be private. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. The family requests that all those attending the viewing and/or the Mass, wear face masks and observe social distancing. In lieu of flowers, Memorials in Marlene’s name can be made to the Betty Welby Food Drive, C/O Fidelity Bank, 334 North Washington Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503.

Burial Date: November 5, 2021

Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 4 to 7 pm in the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am in St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral, 519 East Locust Street, South Scranton.

Interment will be private.

The family requests that all those attending the viewing and/or the Mass, wear face masks and observe social distancing.
