Patricia Coggins

Patricia J. Coggins, 55, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday morning, surrounded by family. She was a graduate of Abington Heights and pursued her undergraduate studies in social work at Penn State and Marywood. A member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish, she worshipped at St. Benedict’s Church. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated and compassionate nurse’s aide. Known by her friends and family as Trish/Tricia, she was a selfless individual with a love for fishing.

Tricia  is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, John P., a daughter, Lauren, and fiancée Ramiro, (Hunlock Creek), a son Matthew H. (Dunmore) two sisters, Ellen Mondro and husband Mitchell, (FL), Linda Sabatini and husband Salvatore (SC); her mother, Phyllis Kowalski Messett, Clarks Summit. She was preceded in death by her father, John Messett and aunt, Patricia Leas Kowalski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, Pastor, at 10 am at the Church of St. Benedict on Wednesday at 10 am. The family will receive friends from 9 am until time of Mass. Inurnment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
