Paul J. Nocella Sr., 83 of Dickson City, passed on Tuesday at Geisinger CMC ER after being stricken ill at home. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maryann Nocella. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary Raab Nocella. Paul was a graduate of West Scranton High School, a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Visitation Church, Dickson City, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, was an avid hunter and fisherman, had worked as a manager of the former Sugermans Store for over 25 years and retired from the maintenance department at Marywood University. He is also survived by 2 sons, Jason Nocella and partner Candal Sakevich, Dickson City, Jeffrey Nocella, Dickson City and a grandson, Nicholai Nocella, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Paul Jr., a sister-in-law, Mercedes Nocella and brother in-law, Jack Hill. There are no calling hours at the funeral home. Inurnment will be officiated by Msgr. Patrick Pratico at the Blessed Virgin Mary Visitation Cemetery Chapel, Dickson City, on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 12 noon.
