Paul Radle Jr.

Paul Radle, Jr., 83 of Scranton, passed away on Saturday at Geisinger CMC after a brief illness. His wife of 59 years is Dorothy R. Mazzatto Radle. Born in Scranton, he is the son of the late Paul Sr. and Katherine Hoagland Radle. Paul was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School and a United States Air Force veteran. Prior to retirement he worked for Scranton Roofing and Siding for 39 years.

After proudly serving his country for four years in the United States Air Force, Paul came home and met Dorothy, the love of his life, married and started their family. He entered the carpentry field working for himself and Scranton Roofing and Siding. He considered himself an expert carpenter with an exceptional work ethic. Paul was a devoted family man and especially cherished his granddaughter and great-grandson.  He was always there and willing to help anyone who needed it.  He was a selfless man who would do without to provide for others. He never showed up without a pocket full of treats for his grand-pups. Paul enjoyed being a funny man, telling jokes no one understood, visiting family, Sunday drives and coffee runs with Dorothy, watching football, wrestling, old black and white TV shows and Polka Party. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Paul is survived by his wife Dorothy, two sons, Jeffrey A. Radle and wife Linda, Throop, Phillip P. Radle and wife Katie, Scranton, granddaughter, Madison Radle, Olyphant, great-grandson, Harlan Grayson, Olyphant, three sisters, Katherine Propes, Scranton, Pastor Deborah Loessy, Roaring Brook Twp., Donna Bowser and husband Joseph, Dickson City, three brothers, Richard Frederickson and wife Paulette, Scranton, John Radle and wife Kathy, Dickson City, Harry Radle and partner Mary Miller, Duryea, brother-in-law John Wallick, Madison Twp., sister-in-law Lorraine Mazzatto Roche, Scranton, brother-in-law Bobby Klein, Scranton, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was preceded in death by infant daughter, Rose Marie, sister, Harriet Wallick, brother-in-law Larry Propes, sister-in-law Geraldine Klein, and grand-pups Buster and Bentley. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Funeral Services will be on  Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home officiated by Paul’s sister, Pastor Deborah Loessy. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Military Honors will be accorded by the Unites States Air Force and the Dickson City Veterans Honor Guard.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, 4 to 7 p.m. in funeral home.

Funeral Services will be on  Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home officiated by Paul’s sister, Pastor Deborah Loessy.

Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Military Honors will be accorded by the Unites States Air Force and the Dickson City Veterans Honor Guard.
