Peter Mackar

Peter Mackar, 80, of Peckville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Dunmore Health Care Center, His wife of 39 years is Antoinette Ferrara Mackar.  Born in Wilkes Barre, he was the son of the late Peter and Helen Mackar. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Before retirement, he worked for Giant Markets as the Frozen Foods Manager.

Peter was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather who loved his family with all of his heart; he felt they were the greatest gifts in his life. He had a passion for woodwork and enjoyed collecting various coins and stamps. He is survived by his wife Antoinette Mackar, Peckville, two sons; Peter A. Mackar and companion Keri, Philadelphia, and Lance E. Mackar, Peckville, four daughters; Robin Mackar and husband Steve, North Carolina, Renee Mackar, Olyphant, Lisa Romanski and companion Robert, Clifford, and Holly Mackar, Throop, three grandchildren; Natasha Petrovic and spouse Ali Leriger de la Plante, Jordan Romanski, Jack Mackar-Muller, and one brother; John Mackar, Brooklyn.

Panakhyda service will be held on Saturday at 1pm by Rev. Nestor Iwasiw in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Friends may call Saturday from 1 to 4 pm. Interment will be private.

Panakhyda service will be held on Saturday at 1pm by Rev. Nestor Iwasiw.

Friends may call Saturday from 1 to 4 pm.

Interment will be private.
