Raymond Savage

Raymond P. Savage, 87, of Clarks Summit, passed on Thursday, July 7, 2022. His wife Mae C. Savage passed on December 29, 2020, the couple had been married 59 years at the time of her passing. Born in Mount Carmel, he was the son of the late Peter and Margaret Savage. Raymond was a 1953 graduate of Mount Carmel High School later attending the University of Miami on a football scholarship. He was a United States Army Veteran having served with the 2nd Battalion, 14th Armored Cavalry in Germany. He retired as a Field Representative for the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company.  A member of Mary Mother of God Parish, the St. Stephen’s Booster Club, FOE Aerie 314, and was a PIAA Baseball and Basketball official. He was also a co-founder of the local American Legion Baseball Team in the Abington area.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He is survived by one son, Peter Savage and wife Karen, Scranton; two grandchildren, Kate Savage-Chapman and husband, Dylan, Scranton, and John Savage, Scranton; one sister; Evelyn Wozney, Kulpmont; niece, Alexis Wozney, Alexandria, Virginia; and nephew, Joseph Wozney, Mount Carmel. He was predeceased by his wife Mae, two sisters; Genevieve Aldrigetti and Mae Joraskie. The family wishes to thank the many nurses, aides, and staff at Traditional Hospice and Clarks Summit Senior Living for their exceptional care. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 am at Holy Rosary Church, Mary, Mother of God Parish, 316 William Street, Scranton 18508. Interment will follow at Abington Hills Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 am at Holy Rosary Church, Mary, Mother of God Parish, 316 William Street, Scranton 18508.

Interment will follow at Abington Hills Cemetery.
