Regina A. Lavetsky

Regina A. Lavetsky, 90, died Friday in the Abington Manor. Her husband of 44 years, Bernard Lavetsky, died October 26, 1990. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Evelyn Hoinski Zuchlewski,. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, she attended Scranton Penn State Extension, and was a member of Marywood University Lifelong Learning Institute Program. She was also the former president of the Business and Professional Women’s Association and retired as a legal secretary for Attorney William Zacharellis. She is survived by 1 son, John Lavetsky and wife Lisa, Warrington, Bucks County, and 3 daughters, Jean Manning and husband Paul, N. Abington Twp., Bernadette Alford and husband Michael, Framingham, Mass., Rose Weidner and husband August, Columbia, MD, 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Alfred Zuchlewski and 2 sisters, Helen Zuchlewski and infant sister Rita. Her funeral will be on Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram St., West Scranton. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday morning, 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
