Robert E. Passariello, 79, of Old Forge, passed Wednesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Born in West Scranton, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Passariello and married the love of his life, Bonnie Pierce-Passriello, who passed on December 30, 2008. Bob was educated at Mother of Cabrini School in West Scranton and a member of St. Lucy’s Church.
He was known as Bob or Bobo by all that he knew. A well-known man and owner of BP Sanitation for over 60 years, till he retired and handed the business over to his son, Bobby. who he continued to work side by side with, his best friend, his son Bobby, up until he passed. Bob loved going to the casino and antique cars. His life was his business and he loved his job. He was a big jokester to everyone, especially to his grandchildren who he loved and adored and was a proud Pop, who also loved his dog Coco. Bob was a man who fought his illnesses and always came back swinging. His daughter Bonnie called him Superman, and that he was for sure. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Passariello-Grochal and husband John Grochal, Duryea, his son, Robert Passariello, Old Forge, his grandchildren, Robert Gabello and fiancee Alexandria Dougherty, DuPont, Paige, Olivia and Little Johnny Grochal Jr., Duryea, Dominick Passariello, Old Forge, Trista Dougher, Scranton, Lorenzo and Melania Passariello, Old Forge, Great Grandson, Luca Robert Gabello, his sister, Bernadine Lutkowski and husband Joseph Lutkowski, Old Forge, his brother, Jerome Passariello and wife Carol Passariello, Scranton and many nieces, nephews and cousins, (especially his favorite as he referred to) niece/Goddaughter, who was always there for him, Sara Stranieri, Chris Volovitch who detailed Pops cars and trucks and treated him as a son, his best buddy, Joe Uber. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Passariello and his sisters, Sara Dougher and Mary Sweeney. The viewing for family and friends will be on Sunday, 4 to 8 pm, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Services will be held on Monday, at 11 am in the funeral home by Rev. Fr. Richard Fox. Interment will immediately follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
