Robert L. Pifcho Sr., 75, of West Scranton, passed on Thursday, at the Hospice of Sacred Heart, Dunmore. His wife of 50 years is Sally Fisher Pifcho. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late George and Anna Leonard Pifcho. He was educated in Scranton schools and a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Bob was of the Catholic faith and was a former member of St. Paul’s Church, Scranton. He had worked for the Trane Corp., Haddon Craftsmen, and retired from EPSCO as a truck driver. He was an Army Veteran serving in Germany during the Vietnam era. Bob is survived by his wife Sally, their son, Robert L. Pifcho Jr and wife Nicole, Lake Ariel, six grandchildren, Kylie, Harley and Joseph Pifcho, Jamie and Aidan Spindler and Avionna Evans, five step grandchildren, Jordan and Dakota Chesla, Emma Delancy, Austin and Adrien Stephenson, one brother, George Pifcho and wife Gloria, Pittston, four sisters, Marykay Schultz, Scranton, Annmarie Yurchak, Olyphant, Roseann Liberty, Olyphant, Helen Danko, NJ and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was predeceased his parents, one daughter, Tara M. Pifcho Evans, one son, Joseph M. Pifcho, two brothers, Jack and Kenneth Prevish, three sisters, Bettyjean Fezuk, Barbara McAllister and Dorothy Pifcho. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose work ethic had no comparison. From the time that he returned from the Army he had worked at several local manufacturing companies as a very dedicated employee, making sure that he was providing the best that he could for his wife and children. Bob was a person who would help anyone in need and could fix anything from cars, woodwork, carpentry, electrical and plumbing. He was an avid fisherman, camper, hunter and enjoyed playing horseshoes. A viewing for family and friends will be on Monday, 4 to 7 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday morning at 10 am in the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Deacon, Carmine Mendicino.
