Robert Ragni

Robert Ragni, 65, Moosic, died Monday at Geisinger/Wyoming Valley Hospital, under the care of the VA Administration from complications of multiple sclerosis. His wife is Judy A Rybak Ragni, and the couple would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day. Born in Peckville, he is the son of Eleanor Stevensky Ragni, Scranton and the late Eugene Ragni. He was 1967 graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School, a 1982 graduate of Lackawanna Junior college and also attended Marywood University. Robert was an Army Veteran of Viet Nam and served as a SP/5 with C Company, 93rd Engineer Brigade in the 20th Engineer Battalion. Robert worked as a heavy equipment operator and also for Lackawanna Junior College as a Veterans Advisor. He was a former member of SS Peter and Paul Church of Avoca, the Rabiega-Gorgol VFW, South Scranton the DAV and the Shiney Mountain Sportsman Club. He is also survived by one son, Robert V. Ragni, Moosic, two daughters, Brenda Nudelman and husband Nathan, Annapolis, MD, Amy Ragni and fiancée Thomas C. Gazoo, Scranton, two granddaughters, Bella and Addy Nudelman, several cousins. The family would like to thank Robert’s caregiver, Teresa Mawson, for the excellent job she has done taking care of him over the last 8 years. Funeral Services will begin on Friday at 9:45 am in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton, 18505 conducted by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph’s Church, Davis Street, Scranton. Military Honors will be accorded at the church after Mass. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 4 to 8 pm. Inurnment will be private. Leave an online condolence on the funeral home website.
