Robert J. Schultz, 85, of the plot section of the city, died Tuesday afternoon at home after being stricken ill. His wife is Mary Kay Pifcho Schultz. The couple would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on November 16. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Nancy Hrycyk Schultz. Robert was educated in St. Mary of the Assumption High School, South Scranton, was an Army and Air Force Veteran, retired as a crane operator at the Chamberlain Corp. and was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, North Scranton. He is also survived by two sons, John Schultz and wife Mary, Scranton, Robert Schultz, Peckville, two daughters, Stephanie Gillar and husband Ron, Dickson City, Sandy Seamans and husband Fred, New Milford, eight grandchildren, Kayla Koza and husband Brian, Christopher Johnson and fiancée Brittany Greenwood, Matthew Gillar, Mia Moser and husband Patrick, Katrina Schultz, Shelby Seamans, Chrissy Seymour, Casey Propst, three great grandchildren, Elianna Rogari, Ana Propst, Christopher Johnson Jr., one sister, Marie Mann, Scranton, several nieces and nephews, as well as daughters, Sharon, Joyce and Janice. He was also preceded in death by one son Steven Schultz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 am in Mary, Mother of God Parish, at Holy Rosary Church. Viewing for family and friends will be on Friday, 5 to 8 pm in the Edward J Chomko Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
