Ronald E. Davis, 83, of West Scranton, passed on Monday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. The strongest and kindest man any of his family ever knew, he and the love of his life, wife Lois A. (Ward) Davis, were married for 63 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Palmer and Elizabeth (Clark) Davis. Ronald was a graduate of West Scranton High School, attended St. Patrick’s Church, served with the United States Army National Guard as a sergeant for a decade, and was the skilled and successful founder and owner/operator of R.E. Davis Refuse Inc., Reliable Disposal Inc. and Ron Davis Tire & Auto in Scranton.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; two sons, Ronald Davis and wife, Meridith (Ippolito) Davis, Clarks Summit; William Davis and wife, April (Phillips) Davis, Scranton; one daughter, Lisa (Davis) Ralston and husband, Andrew, Allentown; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah (Davis) Stengline; and five siblings. All of his family will miss him so very dearly, and await with anticipation their embracing him once again in heaven.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 26, by the Rev. Richard Fox at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton, 18504. The family will receive friends at the church, 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Greek Catholic Cemetery, Minooka.
