Ronald P. Pizur

Ronald P. Pizur, 80, of South Scranton, passed suddenly at home on Saturday morning with his wife at his side. His wife is Patricia Black Pizur. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Mary Vorozilchak Pizur. Ronn was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Johnson Trade School and attended the University of Scranton. He was the owner operator of Pizur Construction until 2009 and retired after 34 years from Tobyhanna Army Depot. Ronn attained the rank of Eagle Scout and later he became the Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 78 and assisted actively with Scout Troops in Moscow and Springbrook. He is a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Dunmore, a lifetime member of the Moscow Sportsman Club and he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed working on stained glass with his wife Patricia.

He is survived by his wife Patricia, two sons, Ronald Pizur Jr. and wife Sheila, Europe, Richard Pizur and wife Kristine, Hamlin, two stepchildren, Regina Miller, Spain, Frederick Pittack and wife Nicole, Gouldsboro, two grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, one sister, Eleanore Young, Dalton, numerous nieces and nephews. Ronn was also predeceased by five siblings, John Pizur, Madeline Pizur, Helen Jurbala, Theresa Sturro, Dorothy Cummings, brothers in-law, Robert Young, Joseph Jurbala, William Sturro, Michael Cummings, and sister in-law, Connie Pizur. Ronn’s family would like to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Michael J. Fox, Dr. Seth Fisher and the many doctors thru the years for their kind and compassionate care. Ron Always said, “Every Day is a Bonus, treat everyone with kindness, compassion and respect”. In memory of Ronn, please treat everyone with kindness and respect. A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 am in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 511 East Drinker Street, Dunmore, PA 18512, by the Rev. Fr. Robert W. Lozinski, CFC, Pastor. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, 3 to 6 pm in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 am in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 511 East Drinker Street, Dunmore, PA 18512, by the Rev. Fr. Robert W. Lozinski, CFC, Pastor.

Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
