Rose Marie Karwaski, 78, of South Scranton, died Monday morning in the Geisinger/CMC ER. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Claire Belardi Renaldi. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, she retired as a phone specialist for J.C. Penney and was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Rose Marie was a loving mom, gramma and sister who enjoyed going to bingo, following the tv soap opera’s and loved going to church at St. Francis. She is survived by 1 son, John Karwaski and wife Christine, Old Forge, 1 daughter, Lisa Reidenbach, Scranton, 5 grandchildren, Kalie, Taylor and Ashley Reidenbach, Brittany and Jaden Karwaski, 1 great granddaughter, Peyton Elizabeth, 1 brother, Joseph Renaldi and wife Julie, Old Forge, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Lawrence, John and Patrick Renaldi, 2 sisters, Annette Baldacci and Ann Renaldi. Her funeral will be on Friday, leaving the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 254-268 Railroad Avenue, Scranton at 9:15 am, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, South Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Scott P. Sterowski, Pastor. Interment will follow in the Italian-American Cemetery, Minooka section of Scranton. Viewing for family and friends will be on Thursday, 5 to 8 pm.
