Rose Napolitano

Rose M. Napolitano, 91, of the Bellevue section of Scranton, died Saturday at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Her husband of 70 years, Martin R. Napolitano, died on October 23, 2016. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Asunta Ubaldini Fiorani. Rose was a graduate of West Scranton High School, a member of St. Lucy’s Church, a former seamstress and was owner/operator of Romar Ceramics of Scranton. Rose was a member of St. Lucy’s Church Choir, taught ceramics at the Senior Citizens Center and repainted the statues at St. Lucy’s Church. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, the family caregiver and an accomplished ceramic artist. She is survived by two daughters, Tina Marino and husband Michael, Scranton, Phyllis Manion and husband Dennis, Bloomfield, NJ, seven grandchildren, Marc Marino and wife Sandra, Michael Marino and wife Amanda, Nicholas Marino and wife Amy, Nicole Turi and husband Brad, Dennis Manion Jr., Kimberly Cirincione and husband Philip, Nicole Manion, six great grandchildren, Giana and Maxum Turi, Nixon, Nico and Adelina Marino and Eric Cleveland. She was pre-deceased by one grandchild, Tiffany Manion and six siblings. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the kind and compassionate care given to our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 705 Central Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45202  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 9:30 am in St. Lucy’s Church, 949 Scranton Street, Scranton, 18504. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Viewing for family and friends will be on Tuesday, 4 to 7 pm, in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton.
