Rose E. Panusky, 89, of West Scranton, fell asleep in the Lord, on Monday morning at Riverside Nursing and Rehab Center, Taylor. Her husband of 67 years is Paul P. Panusky. Born in Calabria, Italy, she is the daughter of the late Frank and Domenica Carrera. Educated in West Scranton High School, she was a member of the former St. David’s Church, Keyser Valley and is a member of St. Lucy’s Church, West Scranton. Rose retired from the local garment sales industry and served St. David’s Church for many years, teaching First Holy Communion classes their prayers and was a member of St. David’s Altar and Rosary Society. Along with her husband Paul, she is survived by one daughter, Lorraine Schwartz and husband Gus, Moscow, three sons; Dennis Panusky and wife Cindy, Swoyersville, Mark Panusky and wife Linda, Old Forge, Joel Panusky, Old Forge, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren with one more on the way, a sister, Immaculate Menichello, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Paul Joseph Panusky, three siblings, Theresa Carlucci, Michael and Samuel Carrera. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Scranton by the Rev. Deacon Carmine Mendicino. Interment was in Cathedral Cemetery.
