Stanley Mach

Stanley J. Mach, 75, Old Forge formerly of Scranton, died Christmas Day at Geisinger Wyoming Valley where he was a patient. His wife of 49 years is Sharon Ashman Mach. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Mary Malanko Mach. A graduate of West Scranton High School, he was an Army Vietnam Veteran serving with the 2nd Battalion of the 18th Infantry Division and was the recipient of the Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service with two bronze stars, the Vietnam Campaign, Vietnam Gallantry Cross and the Vietnam Civil Actions Medals. He was of the Catholic Faith and worked as a warehouse supervisor. He is also survived by four daughters, Michelle Maros, Elmhurst, Cheryl Mach, Scranton, Sandy Tagliaterra and husband Mark, Old Forge, Nichol Mach, Scranton, six grandchildren, Stanley, Sarah, and Elizabeth Maros, Jessica and Carl Fisher, Breanna Tagliaterra, two great grandchildren, Hailey Winters and Casey Maros. He was predeceased by two siblings, Joseph Klebon and Helen Klebon McKeon. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, 6 to 7:30 pm with a Blessing Service at 7:30 by the Rev. Scott P. Sterowski, in the Edward J Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, West Scranton. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday in Sacred Hearts Cemetery, Minooka, at 9:30 am.
