Thomas Carbone

Thomas “Tommy” Carbone, 51 of Monroe County, PA, passed on Saturday, March 26, 2022.  Born in New York, NY he is the son of Thomas Carbone, Tamarac, FL (formally of Scranton, PA) and he was preceded in death by his beautiful and beloved mother, Barbara Carbone. Tommy pursued his dream as a Culinary Professional and graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales, Providence, RI.  Tommy spent 30 years in Florida following his passion of Culinary Arts where he owned and operated Café Thomas and worked at various upscale restaurants.  In 2019, he moved back to the area to work for Brookdale Premier Addiction Recovery as the Executive Chef.

Tommy loved the outdoors and entertaining his family and friends with his modest cooking skills.  Being social was a special gift upon which Tommy was bestowed; those around him were drawn to his infectious smile and ebullient personality.  He was kind, soft spoken and had a laugh that was contagious. His happiest moments were spent with his sister Gina.  Being the big brother often meant giving his countless opinions whether she asked for it or not.  Their unbreakable bond was based on love and trust.  They protected each other and shared a love of laughter.

Also surviving is his sister Gina, Scranton, several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends who were his extended family. Tommy will never be forgotten but forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. A time of gathering to celebrate Tommy’s life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 3 to 6 pm with a Blessing Service to begin at 6 pm Officiated by Deacon Carmine Mendicino at the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services 262 Railroad Ave, West Scranton.
