Thomas Linko

Thomas Linko, 68, of Jefferson Township, died Thursday, in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. His wife of 47 years is Lois Ann Lindsey Linko. Born in Scranton, he is the son of the late John and Anna Smereka Linko. A 1965 graduate of West Scranton High School, he had served in the National Guard. Thomas was formerly employed by Stan-Tone Graphics and Printing, Scranton and retired from Mac-Tac, Scranton. He is also survived by one sister, Mildred McGraw and husband James, Scranton, one sister inlaw, Anne Linko, Scranton, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, George Linko. Tom was an avid football fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State and the Oregon Ducks. Thomas loved all animals, especially his dogs Baxter, Scarlett and Violet, along with all of his former pets waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. Thomas would feed the birds all winter with Scarlet at his heels. He was patiently waiting for the season to begin at Lake Bonin, Rome, PA, where he spent weekends in the company of the friends he made there. On May 1st he was diagnosed with cancer and could not make opening day at the lake with his friends. Lois asks that even if you did not know Thomas, you should live today the best that you can, because tomorrow may not come. A celebration of Life will be held on Sunday in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Avenue, Scranton. Calling hours for family and friends will be 5 to 8 pm. Interment will be private.
