Tracy G. Rice, 79, of West Scranton, passed on Thursday.
Born in Dalton, he is the son of the late Theodore and Belle Walker Rice. Tracy was educated in Scranton Public Schools and retired from MTL Technologies. Tracy proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, four and a half years of honorable service as a corporal (E4) and was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish, West Scranton. He was the “Mr. Fix It” to the family and always had a solution for anything needing repair.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Bliss Rice; daughter, Mary Theresa Robinson (Jay); son, Michael Rice (Colleen); one granddaughter, Sophia Maria Rice, whom he cherished and was the light of his life; sisters, Bette Jeanne Roney, New York, Ann Decker, North Carolina, and Valerie Perry, Scranton; brothers, David, Arizona, and Frank, Scranton; sisters-in-law, Rose Kuzmich, Taylor, and Carol Rice, Avoca; brother-in-law, Tom Talarico, Scranton; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Marvin Rice; sister, Connie Talarico; nieces, Gail Deuro and Ann Marie Mead; nephews, Robert Rice and Bill Perry; and brother-in-law, Joseph Kuzmich.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Jackson Street, West Scranton. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until time of Mass. Military honors will be accorded after Mass. Interment will be private.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
