William Velez, 63, of Taylor, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, July 24, in the emergency room of Geisinger/CMC Hospital, Scranton, PA. He was the loving husband of Maria V. Piniero Velez. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Santos Velez Rodrigues and Mereida Jimenez Morales. Educated in Brooklyn, he was a retired forklift operator in the warehousing industry.
He is also survived by one daughter, Jomaira Velez, three sons, Genaro Velez, Will Velez, and Aden Velez and 10 grandchildren. 1 sister, Maria Velez, 7 brothers, Juan Velez, Santos Velez Jr, Hector Velez, Harry Velez, Angel Velez, Richard Velez, Edwin Velez and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 12:15 pm, by the Rev. Fr. Cyril Edwards, Pastor of Mary, Mother of God Parish. A family visitation will be from 10 am until time of services. Interment will follow in Dunmore Cemetery.
